Violet E. DeVries, 75, Mooresville, died May 4, 2013, in Kindred Hospital, Indianapolis. Mrs. DeVries was born May 19, 1937, in Martinsville, Indiana.
Violet attended Martinsville High School and worked at various convenience stores in and around Mooresville. Those included Pebbles Gas Station, Ames, and the Marathon Gas Station in Mooresville. She was a member of the Mooresville Free Methodist Church and had served as the past president of the Eagles Lodge in Mooresville. She will be missed by her loving family and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard DeVries; mother and step-father, Katherine Louise (Hunt) and Carl Tierce; sisters, Elizabeth West, Faye Bennett, Etta Snowden, and Sue Ann Tierce.
Survivors include her daughters, Mary Lynn Herald of Indianapolis and Kathy Tandy of Mooresville; sister, Diana Jordan of Clay County; brother, Carl L. Tierce; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren.
The funeral service will begin at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 8, 2013, in the Carlisle - Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, with calling there from 12 Noon. Rev.
