Vivian Marie Freeman, 94, Mooresville, died February 5, 2012, in Meadow Lakes, Mooresville. Mrs. Freeman was born January 29, 1918, in Lee County, Virginia, to the late John Everett and Rosa Alice Gilbert.
She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church, Mooresville and the Mooresville Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Freeman was an avid gardener and loved flowers. An excellent and accomplished cook, she worked at Kendrick Hospital for 25 year, retiring in 1988.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Harold Freeman; one infant child; one daughter, Jackie; one son, Roger; brothers, John E., Eugene, and Elmo Gilbert and Charles McJunkin.
Survivors include her sons, Ivan Harold Freeman (Cova) of Ohio, Jessie J. Freeman (Donna) of Mooresville, Curtis Freeman, Jr. (Sheila) of Mooresville; daughters, Alice Helen Jones (the late Ross) of Mooresville, Nona Gail Willoughby (the late Harold) of Mooresville, and Virginia Napier (Wallace) of Mooresville; sisters, Virginia Hinson of Tennessee and Peggy McJunkin of Madison; 22 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; 14 great great grandchildren.
Friends and family will gather on Wednesday, February 8, 2012, 4 to 8 p.m., at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. The funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, February 9, 2012, in the First Baptist Church, Mooresville. Burial will follow in White Lick Cemetery.
