Walter Edwin Bailey, 87, of Hudson, Florida died on January 9, 2013. Born in Bloomington, Indiana on March 4, 1925, “Ed” Bailey served his country in World War II in the 19thCombat Engineer Regiment under General George S. Patton in the United States Army. Ed was a 32nd degree Master Mason in good standing for over 50 years. A member of the Scottish Rite and York Rite, he was enshrined over 50 years ago. He was a Vice President and General Sales Manager for Maplehurst Dairy until his retirement in 1986. Ed enjoyed fishing, spending time with his family and following his favorite team, the Indianapolis Colts.
Ed is preceded in death by his parents, Richard Bailey and Ruth Bland Bailey; his loving wife, Faye Bailey; brothers, Glen and Don Bailey; sister, Dolores Lewis; grandchildren, James Allen Bailey and Kimberly Faye Haugk. Family left to cherish his memory are his son, James Edwin Bailey; daughter, Janice Faye Haugk and her husband, Dave; granddaughter, Kristin Amber Haugk; grandson, Michael David Haugk and his wife, Rachel; great-grandchildren, Madison Kimberly Haugk and Charles David Haugk. He will also be missed by his companion of many years, Alberta Cooter.
A funeral service will be held at 11am, Wednesday, January 16, 2013, in the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, with visitation there from 4 to 8 p.m., on Tuesday, January 15, 2013.
