Wanda Lee Ellington, 88, Mooresville, went to be with Jesus on June 24, 2023. Mrs. Ellington was born April 25, 1935, in Henderson, Kentucky, to the late Chester and Annie (Cron) Howard. She married Robert Ellington on May 27, 1955, and he survives.
She graduated from George Washington High School in Indianapolis and was employed by Mayflower Transit for 27 years. After retirement, she worked in craft shows for 22 years. A longtime member of Lakeview Church, she served as a Sunday School teacher for many years. She enjoyed going to church, reading the Bible, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Wanda’s survivors include her loving husband of 68 years and 28 days, Robert; her three children, Linda Bowen of Michigan, Kathleen (Mike) Gentzke of Indiana, and Robert Ellington, Jr. of Indiana; four grandsons; 11 great-grandchildren; niece, Sallie (Rick) Smith; and nephew, Danny Geiger. She was preceded in death by a brother, Chester “Bud” Howard, Jr. and a sister, Syble Geiger.
Wanda’s Life Celebration® Visitation and Funeral Service will be held at River of Life Church, 6001 Kentucky, Avenue, Indianapolis, 46221. Family Visitation will be Tuesday, June 27, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., Public Visitation from 11 a.m. to 12 Noon, with the service following at 12 Noon. Pastor Jeff Cole will officiate, and the burial will be in White Lick Cemetery. Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, is serving the family.
