Wanda L. (Holloway) O’Brien, 79, Mooresville, passed away peacefully March 11, 2021. Wanda was born November 2, 1941, in Beattyville, Kentucky, to the late Raymond and Lorena (Horton) Holloway. She married Jerry E. O’Brien on September 10, 1960, and he survives.
Wanda grew up in Indianapolis and graduate from Emmerich Manual High School. Although she worked a few part time jobs from time to time, Wanda’s primary vocation involved being a loving wife and mother to her beloved family. She was a member of the American Legion Post 103 Auxiliary and the Eagles Lodge Auxiliary. She was a part of the quilting group that quilted for years at the Academy Building in Mooresville. She also enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and gardening. Wanda always enjoyed canning her harvest, and she made the best zucchini relish anywhere. Her kind, pleasant, and happy manner will be forever cherished by her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Betty Stowe, Leonard Holloway, Helen Hanley, and Dorman Holloway.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Jerry; daughters, Cindy (KC) Lunceford, Shelly (Doug) Steele, and Charlotte (Greg) Gist; siblings, Clessie Holloway, Nancy Harris and Janet Starr; 9 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 17, 2021, 3 to 6 p.m., at the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. A brief memorial service will follow at 6 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Kidney Foundation.
