Willard A. “Bill” Schrader, Jr., 89, Mooresville, former longtime Monrovia resident, passed away March 1, 2016. Mr. Schrader was born December 25, 1926, in Monrovia, to the late Willard A. and Laura M. (Deitz) Schrader.
He graduated from Monrovia High School and quickly became involved in the family farm. Bill loved all things having to do with farming - it was not only his work, but also his hobby. He also worked as a mechanic and service manager for Saunders Leasing for many years. He enjoyed several retirement years in Florida, but moved back to Indiana following the death of his wife, Barbara Alice (Jaggers) Schrader, in 2007. Bill also enjoyed time spent on the water, boating and water skiing. Above all, he loved his family, and his memory will always be cherished by his loved ones.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by siblings, Louis Schrader, Virginia Jett, Catherine Huffmark, and Elizabeth Goad.
Survivors include a son, Stephen Schrader (Anita) of Avon and a daughter, Linda Stoner of Florida; five grandchildren, Samuel Schrader, Corey Hartman, and Scott Hartman, Corrine Middleton, and Clint Utter; six great grandchildren.
Friends and family will gather on Saturday, March 12, 2016, 11 am to 1 pm in the chapel at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. Services will begin at 1 p.m. Inurnment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery, Indianapolis. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
