William “Bill” Haney, 83, of Monrovia, passed away Friday, June 15, 2018. Bill was born on December 24, 1934 in Nashville Tennessee, to the late Harrison and Lena (Pippin) Haney.
Bill worked for Motor Express Inc. and Road Way as a truck driver for 37 years. He retired from truck driving in 1996. Bill was with the Union Teamsters Local 135 for 32 years and during that time was also a Union Steward. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Bill was a hardworking man for many years but always found time to spend with his family. He will be greatly missed by loving family and friends.
In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by his siblings, Carlis, Dallas, John, Ruth Geraldine, and Bobbi Joan.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 63 years, Donna (Watkins) Haney of Monrovia; daughters, Leslie Leighton of Monrovia, Rhonda (Larry) Hightower of Indianapolis; brother, Raymond Haney of Greencastle; grandchildren, Alexandra, Noelle, Kara, Isaac, William, and Lori (Brian); and four great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 19, 2018 form 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Hall, Indiana.
