William “Bud” Scruggs, 93, of Indianapolis, passed away on October 24, 2022, at the Franciscan Hospice House in Indianapolis. Bud was born to the late Garney & Nancy Scruggs on March 19, 1929. For most of his life, Bud was a truck driver. He owned his own trucking company called B & B Scruggs Trucking. He loved to travel and drive his semi. He enjoyed spending Sunday afternoons watching NASCAR with his son. Bud loved to talk to people and made friends easily. He enjoyed sharing stories of growing up with anyone who would listen. He was referred to as “Grandpa” by most of the kids in his neighborhood. He always had a smile on his face, loved life, and was always willing to help others. Bud went to McDonalds every single day for breakfast to share a meal with his “McDonalds Family”. He also loved to spend time in Florida with his sister and niece.
Bud is survived by his children; Gladys Grubbs, Larry, Scruggs, and Daryl (Christine) Scruggs, grandchildren; April, Danielle, Kyle, Shelly, and Bobby, and adopted granddaughter; Jenni, 17 great-grandchildren, and sisters; Carolyn Hubbard and Helen Cole.
Bud is preceded in death by his daughter; Clara Jean Scruggs great-grandson, Joshua, and sisters; Barbara Kay and Christine Crothers.
Visitation will be held at Carlisle-Branson Funeral Service & Crematory on Thursday, October 27, 2022, from 4:00 pm-6:00 pm. Funeral Services will be immediately following at 6:00 pm.
