William D. “Donnie” Imhausen, 39, Watford City, North Dakota, formerly of Hendricks County, passed away suddenly October 4, 2016, as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. Donnie was born August 19, 1977, in Danville, to James H. and Kathryn J. (Prock) Imhausen.
Donnie attended Cascade and Plainfield High Schools and proudly served in the United States Marine Corp during the War in Afghanistan. He worked in landscaping for a period of time and most recently worked in trucking and on the Bakken, North Dakota Oil Fields. An avid outdoorsman, Donnie enjoyed animals, wildlife, shooting guns, and riding motorcycles. Donnie was generous to a fault and always found enjoyment in the simple things in life. Above all, he was a loving son, brother, and a proud uncle to his seven nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Haskel Prock; paternal grandparents, Zoe and William E. “Bill” Imhausen; uncle, John Imhausen; brother-in-law, Phung Nguyen.
Survivors include Donnie’s parents, James H. and Kathryn Imhausen; sisters, Amelia “Amy” Nguyen and Darla Slaughter (Ben); seven nieces and nephews; grandmother, Nancy Prock.
Friends and family will gather on Friday, October 7, 2016, 4 to 7 p.m., in the chapel at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. The funeral service to celebrate Donnie’s life will begin at 10 a.m., Saturday, October 8, 2016, in the funeral home. (Jim Imhausen will be unavailable to receive guests at the visitation.) A private burial will follow in the Clayton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Riley Children’s Hospital Foundation.
