William Davee, 92, lifelong Morgan County resident, died at home on Christmas evening, 2014. Mr. Davee was born August 9, 1922, in Morgan County, to the late Roy and Sadie (Smith) Davee.
Bill was a farmer for years in Morgan County, having farmed in Mahalasville with his father Roy until 1936. In 1937, the family moved to the northern part of the county and began farming in Madison Township and to Mann Road in 1959. Bill enjoyed mushroom hunting and especially enjoyed coon hunting his brother Dale and the late Doc Perry. In addition to farming, he sold seed corn for DeKalb for many years. Bill was a member of Mt. Gilead Christian Church and had previously been an active member of Bluff Creek Christian Church, where he served as an elder and worked in ministry with Albert Lorber. After several years of declining health, he is reunited with his loving wife, Thelma, and many other family members.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Thelma (Robertson) Davee; daughter, Janis Conner; brothers, Maurice, Johnnie, Lowell “Ted”, Floyd, and Dale; grandson, Lucas Davee.
Survivors include one son, Randy Davee (Robin) of Mooresville; sisters, Mary Trobaugh of Texas and Martha Roska of Washington; grandchildren, Heather Anderson (Brian), Chris Conner, and Desi Davee; great grandchildren, Bradley Ellis and Cameron Anderson; great great grandchild, Trey Ellis; many nieces and nephews.
Friends and family will gather on Tuesday, December 30, 2014, 4 to 7 p.m., in the chapel at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. The funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. A private committal service will be held on Wednesday, December 31, 2014, in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Morgan County Food Rescue, 31 Indianapolis Road, Mooresville.
