William F. Ray Meade

William F. Ray Meade, Jr., 82, of Mooresville, passed away at home November 21, 2019; surrounded by his loving family. Ray was born February 13, 1937, in Russell County, Virginia, to the late William F. Ray Meade, Sr. and Ludia Ellen (Keith) Meade Baker. He married the love of his life Sue Trusty on April 6, 1991.

Ray was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles3988, Mooresville. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and bluegrass music. Ray also liked all sports whether it be watching the New England Patriots, Duke Blue Devils basketball, or umpiring baseball games. Ray was a very loyal and dedicated man to his family. He will be greatly missed.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandchildren, Samantha Miller and William F. Ray Meade III; great grandchild, Bentley Joe Gipson; brothers, Emmett, Tex, Fred, Dave, Buford, and Gene Baker; and sisters, Bea Neece, Agnes Jenkins, and Rosie Vance.

Ray is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Sue Meade; 5 children, Eloise Meade, William Buford (Connie) Meade, Kim (Dick) Rackley, Mark (Jerica) Meade, and Angel (Dave) Pryor; sister, Peggy (Larry) Carr; 12 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and wonderful friends as well.

Visitation will be Monday, 5 to 8 p.m., November 25, 2019 at Carlilsie – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m., Tuesday, November 26, 2019, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield, Indiana.
