William F. Shepherd, 88, Plainfield, formerly of Mooresville, passed away July 16, 2016, in Plainfield Health Care Center. Mr. Shepherd was born February 12, 1928, in Mooresville, to the late Herbert and Gladys (Mitchell) Shepherd.
Mr. Shepherd proudly served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1953. While living in California for many years, he worked as a truck driver for Abro Trucking in Beuna Park. After moving back to Indiana, he worked as a security guard for the former PSI in Plainfield. He also enjoyed mowing grass at Pioneer Park for a number of years. Mr. Shepherd had been a member of the Plainfield Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Clara Jean Shepherd and Thelma Gregory.
Survivors include two daughters, Wilamena Moors of Dayton, Ohio and Royanna Eck of Rushville; brother, Virgil D. Shepherd of Mooresville; sisters, Della Moore of Mooresville, Martha Collins of Plainfield, and Jane Green of Greenwood; several grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will begin at 10 a.m., Tuesday, July 19, 2016, in the chapel at Carlisle - Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, with calling there Monday, July 18, 2016, 4 to 7 p.m. Burial will be in White Lick Cemetery, Mooresville.
