William J. “Bill” Miller, 81, Mooresville, died August 5, 2021, unexpectedly after having a heart procedure. Bill was born September 5, 1939, in Indianapolis, to the late Lewis E. and Elizabeth (Ferguson) Miller.
He graduated from Mooresville High School in 1957, and he married the love of his life, Dixie Miller, on January 24, 1958. Bill worked as a union carpenter for 50 years, first for R.L. Schutt, and then he retired from F. A. Wilhelm Construction. He loved sprint car racing and looked forward to watching NASCAR every Sunday. Bill also enjoyed golfing and camping. Always proud of his home, he became the Centenary Road caretaker. Wearing his orange vest and hat, Bill picked up litter for years from State Road 144 to Watson Road. He will be fondly remembered by his loving family and friends.
Bill was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 63 years, Dixie Mae (Lopossa) Miller, on June 3, 2021.
Survivors include one daughter, Ginger Sheley and one son, Kip (Sherri) Miller.
