Willie L. Henson, 81, Camby, passed away peacefully at home October 9, 2021. Mr. Henson was born March 3, 1940, in Manchester, Kentucky, to the late Tommy and Susanna (Collins) Henson.
Willie worked early on for Tri-Bar Railroad Construction prior to owning his own business, Henson Construction, for nearly 50 years. A hard working, self-made man, Willie was a generous and capable provider for his family. He enjoyed softball, boating on Dale Hollow, classic automobiles, and never turned down an opportunity to find a good deal at a garage sale. Willie loved western movies, classic country music, especially Waylon Jennings, and restoring antique cars. He will be fondly remembered by his loving family for his caring, sense of humor, loving nature and his big heart. He loved beating Moo at Checkers.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Butch, Johnny, and Tommy Jr.; sister, Molly Jackson.
Survivors include his wife, Sue (White) Henson, to whom he was united in marriage April 1, 1966; children, Belinda Henson, Willie Jr. (Vicki) Henson, Dennis (Tracey) Henson, Susanna (Paul) Jones, and Timmy (Melissa) Henson; brothers, Don, Charles, Dennis, and Joe Henson; sisters, Eva Phillips, Patricia Smith, Ruth Henson, and Donna Henson; 17 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren.
Willie’s Life Celebration® Visitation and Service will be held at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. Visitation is Wednesday, October 13, 2021, 4 to 8 p.m., with the services at 11 a.m., Thursday, October 14, 2021. Burial will be in White Lick Cemetery. Pastors J.C. and Tommy Phillips will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to your favorite Veteran’s organization, in memory of Willie’s brother Butch who served in Vietnam.
