Wilma L. Poe

90, of Mooresville passed away on July 9, 2019 at home. Wilma was born on August 3, 1928 to the late Steve and Eula (Wilson) Gibbs in Mooresville.

Wilma worked as a cook at Northwood Elementary, retiring after 32 years of service. After retiring, she worked at Poe’s Cafeteria. She attended the New Life Wesleyan Church, was a member of the Moose Lodge and enjoyed country line dancing and square dancing in her younger years. However, it was her family that brought her the most joy and loved spending time with them, especially spoiling the grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband Jimmy Richard Poe; sister Doris Martin; grandchildren Dawn Adams and Chad Fishero.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters Debbie Sweet, Nila Zimmerman; sister Bernice Riggs; 1 grandchild; 10 great grandchildren; 13 great- great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday July 23rd at 2:00pm at the New Life Community Wesleyan Church, 1594 State Road 144, Mooresville.
