Our Deepest sympathy . We love you Jamie. Patrick & Debbie Thomas
Sweet Jo was my dear friend and colleague in the English Dept. at Avon High School. We had some great times together, and she loved when I teased her about her flair for wearing sparkles and lace. I still have hanging in my home a framed crochet piece she did for me as a house warming gift. She would come to my classroom to talk through frustrations, and we would end up in laughter. Sending love to all her family and best wishes for holding on to the memories. Pam Lyons
I am so very sad to learn of Jo’s passing and also to learn of her long illness. Jo taught next door to me for several years at Avon High School. She was fun to be around and had the glorious laugh. I wish I could hear her laugh one more time. We lost touch after she retired but I often thought of her and missed her. Sweet Jo, you were a good friend and a great teacher.
Our hearts and prayers are with you and your family. Love your Portillos family and friends.
I’ve known Jo Emma since we were five years old. So many good times in grade school and marching band in high school. She was a beautiful girl that I always liked. She will be missed! John Price, Class of 75. Greenwood High School.
Jo is the best friend I could have asked for. She had such a sweet way of making you feel special. We share a lifetime of memories, dreams, tears and laughter. I am so blessed to have had her as my dearest friend. I will miss her always – I am so sorry Rick, Rachael, Brandon, Jamie, Kelly and Rick. My heart goes out to you. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. Love, Terri
Jo was my English teacher at Avon High School in the mid-90’s. She was wonderful… a gentle voice, easy smile and engaging voice. I enjoyed being in her student, and I was sad to hear of her passing today. My condolences to a family who will surely miss her.
I was Mrs. Cornelius’ “helper” in freshman English Honors at Avon High School. We shared many beautiful laughs and lots of brilliant conversation. She truly continues to be an inspiration. Many condolences to the family! -Nicholas Herring-Harman
