Sandra (Young) Alexander

73, of Mooresville, passed away on September 7, 2019 at The Springs of Mooresville, surrounded by her family. Sandy was born on August 9, 1946 to the late Victor Young and Anne (Thalmann) Young in Indianapolis.

Sandy attended Ball State and while there, met Ron on a blind date, which blossomed into 53 years of marriage. They wed on November 27, 1965 and had two children, Dawn and Heather. Together, Ron and Sandy started Alexander Insurance Company to serve the Mooresville community in 1979. She was a prominent fixture in Mooresville and Morgan County, was a member of Tri Kappa, serving as coordinator for the Old Settlers Parade for 20 years, co-hosting the parade radio broadcast on WCBK with Mitzie Forbes and was recognized as Young Miss Democrat of Morgan County many years ago. She was an avid sports fan, always following her Notre Dame Fighting Irish Football, IU Basketball and Indianapolis Colts teams. She was an avid reader, she enjoyed gardening and traveling with her family to various locales. However, it was her family that brought her great joy. She will be greatly missed by all.

She is survived by her husband and best friend of 53 years, Ron Alexander; daughters Dawn Russell (Roderick), Heather Foley (Sean) ; sister Vickie Allen; grandchildren Alexandria Day, Jacob Day; niece Maren Allen and great niece Dakota Parton.

A memorial service will be held Friday, Sept. 13th at 6pm at Carlisle- Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, with visitation from 4-6pm Friday prior to the memorial service at the funeral home.

  3. We were so sorry to learn of Sandy’s passing. I first met Sandy at Ball State. We were in the same Residence Hall. Many years later met her again in Mooresville. So sorry for your familie’s loss. I know she will be missed. Brenda and Larry Wyatt

  5. Sandy will always be remembered by me for her humorous ways during the time she and my late sister Sheila Gray were friends during school at Martinsville. And remembering Sandy as a cheerleader. Vic and Ann were two of nicest folks and had two good daughters. My thoughts are with you all during this time. Sandy will be one person that i will remember.
