I call it an honor to have known Elzie K Wymer in my lifetime. Was able to serve with him doing the Lords work and purpose as well as a close relationship in person.
Elzie’s Arkansas family are sad for the lost of a family connector. He held everyone together, was the rock that was steadfast and secured. He was loved by so many and we all feel very blessed to have had him in our family. We also loved Ruth Ann, who we lost to soon also. They are reunited now just waiting for the rest of their loved ones. I want to say how much we love Wendy. for the sharing and caring , she was a beloved friend of Ruth Ann, and a loving wife to Elzie. Thank God for these people.
Elzie was like a father to me when I needed one. He led me along life’s path as God guided us both. He has been an anchor in my life, a mentor and spiritual counselor. Elzie and RuthAnn hosted a Bible study in their home where God introduced me to my life partner and better half. My children have grown to love Elzie and the Wymer clan as much as blood brothers and sisters. Only God knows the lives that have been led to the Lord with the love of Elzie Wymer. Heaven truly has a gem. To all that loved Elzie and still love the Wymer family, I’ll miss seeing you at the celebration of life.
When the roll is called up yonder I will be there with you, remain faithful in the Lord.
I will always remember Mr. Wymer with his bright, cheerful smile! My favorite memory is of a sleepover night to celebrate Margie’s birthday. Mr. Wymer took us on a night time ride through the fields behind the house in search of Native American arrowheads as natives once lived on that land. When I found one, I thought I hit a goldmine! It was many years later that I learned Mr. Wymer had planted the arrowheads. ߘ My heartfelt sympathies go out to the entire Wymer family. Love and prayers to you all!
So many wonderful memories of you, Dad #2. I was blessed to meet Amy when I was 5 years old in JR. Church, and gain a lifelong sister and friend, but I also got to be a part of a wonderful family from then on…you gave great hugs, loved God and shared your love for Him. I loved your hats, and you had great style, too. You were always encouraging, supportive, and loving throughout my childhood and through adulthood, too. Thank you for being there when my own Dad passed, and for all the comfort, advice, and guidance you gave, especially after the Lord called him Home. You blessed my life even more when you played “cupid” and introduced me to Eric Anderson. You celebrated in our marriage, our children, our joys. And, you were there, holding my hand, giving comfort and Fatherly guidance and support, when Eric was laid to rest in Christ. For all the laughter and smiles you gave and brought to my life and to many others, for celebrating with and encouraging my family, for your prayers, your example and the way you lived your life, thank you. “Well done, thou good and faithful servant”….when I hear these words, I think of you..Thinking of you all, sending prayers of comfort, and lots of love. My mother did not know she was behind on her taxes aren’t our house. Elzie seen it in the paper. He then paid it, and then told my mother She could pay it when she could. He probably did things like this often without recognition because he walked with God. As he is now. I am truly sorry for your loss. He is not idling.
Elzie was a true friend and mentor of mine. He helped me and advised me many times, even when he didn’t know it. It was so easy to look up to him. He was a great example of what it is to be a Godly man. Elzie will be tremendously missed.
I have never met your father Dr Whymer and family but I want u to know that my heart hurts for u all because I have been there God Bless all of your family
I will always treasure the many years of Christian friendship that we shared. Elzie has been a blessing to so many throughout his lifetime. -Ken Cross
Elzie was one of the reasons I accepted Jesus as my personal savior back in 1974 when I first joined North Liberty Christian Church at the age of 15. He was a gregarious and loving disciple of Christ that showed me what it really meant to be a Christian. He mentored me with kindness and love and helped me see that Jesus was the one true way to salvation. Thank you Elzie, for opening my eyes and saving my life. I know you’re walking with Jesus right now. Love, Tony Burgess
Our family was friends with theirs, grew up at north liberty cc back in the day. Very good family for sure. Time flies!!
