November 11, 1954 ~ April 18, 2018

Mary “Libby” Sutherlin Weber, 63, Mooresville, passed away April 18, 2018, after a brief illness. Mary was born November 11, 1954, in Camp Kilmer, New Jersey, to the late Robert Julian and Virginia Alice (Lonergan) Sutherlin.

Mary graduated from Southport High School in 1972. The family moved to Mooresville in 1991, and she was employed as the general manager of the local Ponderosa for many years. Mary had worked as a support supervisor at Citizens Bank main branch for the past 15 years. She loved boating, water skiing, was fond of animals, and never met a beach that she did not like. She was an avid Colts fan who had a strong admiration for our former quarterback. Mary’s favorite hobby was anything that involved being with her grandchildren, Tyler and Wyatt. Mary was simply full of life and had a contagious smile that will be sorely missed by her loving family, many friends, and customers at the bank.

Survivors include her husband, James P. Weber, to whom she was united in marriage April 20, 1974; daughter, Jennifer Weber of Mooresville; son, Jonathan (Lindsey) Weber of Clayton; step-son, Paul (Montiel) Hancock of Indianapolis; brothers, Michael (Susan) Sutherlin, Robert “Bobby” (Frankie) Sutherlin, Jr., and Mark (Margaret) Sutherlin; sisters, Leslie Sanford, Virginia Sutherlin, and Theresa (Dave) Otto; grandsons, Tyler and Wyatt Weber.

Mary left strict instructions that her life be celebrated. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2018, 2 to 4 p.m., in the chapel at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. An opportunity to share a favorite memory about Mary will be offered at 4 p.m. Please come prepared to share a favorite story or memory that will create lots of laughter that Mary would have enjoyed. 1. To a wonderful neighbor and friend we will truly miss. Thank you for handing out dog treats as
our 4 dogs come walking up your driveway knowing they will get something special from you.
    Sincerely,
    Cherie & Darrel Moyer

And our four legged “kids”: Gracie, Peyton, Bindi, & Linus

  2. Because you were in my life, my broken relationship with my sister was rescued. Because you were in my life, I learned something every time we spent time together. Because you were in my life, I slowed down just a little bit and enjoyed it more. Because you were in my life, the shambles of both of our former lives had value. Because you were in my life, you will always live. In Gods hands…Jim Ryser

  3. It is always hard to say goodbye to a special friend, but to say goodbye to you is almost impossible for me to do. You were a great co-worker, you made working fun. From co-worker you became a special friend. We had so much fun at the Colts games, I got to know you as a mother thru Jennifer and a grandmother thru Wyatt. I have so many memories I have a hard time picking just one, there are 2 that stand out the most, both are from our trip to Albany. The first was when we were shopping and you were set up to get arrested for “shop lifting”, you were such a sport about it and we all laughed till we cried. The second memory is setting in the rain and laughing about it being a “real” football game. There will always be an empty place in my heart that no one else can fill. I keep thinking God must have needed you more than us mortal soles. Rest in peace my friend, my children and I love you.

  4. Mary, I met you when you came into my life December 2005. You, along with Jennifer and Jim were the only ones there when I showed up to group with just one week into my recovery. I was a mess. You comforted me. You encouraged me. You helped me. You shared your experiences with me. Not just that night, but every week after. Even more with social media. Mary, you were one of my higher powers. You will always be one of my higher powers. I will miss you Mary. Thank You! Hugs!
