  2. I’ll never forget the moment I asked John for permission to marry Jeanine! His answer, “Yes! But what took you so long?” I’ll never forget his honesty, and how he accepted me into his family!

  3. Thoughts and prayers for John’s family. He was such a nice, kind and caring man. I am so sorry to hear this news. He will be missed by many.

  4. My most vivid memory of him is behind his drum set and Pink Floyd’s “Another brick in the wall” blasting over the stereo. I’m really glad I got to see him when I visited. I’m so sorry for your loss and love you all deeply.

  5. It’s hard to understand why people are taken from us, but findcomfort in knowing you were a special partof such a well-lived life,…also ,Izel, memories are the legacy of love. Ons sal jou mis John, jou stories, idees en musiek deel en kuiers,..Izel, Jeanine,Chris,Duanne and grandkids….take heart. Time will soften the edges and ease your burden. RIP John.

  6. When I think of John, I remember how much he loved and cared for Izel and his family; how excited he was with the news of a grandson; how he spoiled the dogs rotten; how he did not like working in the garden; how he enjoyed playing the drums; how he liked a real good braai; how he liked to exchange thought-provoking ideas; how much courage and effort it must have taken to emigrate to an unknown country and to study for and start a total new career later in life! May John’s soul rest in peace.
