Joel was a kind-hearted man. I have fond memories of when I helped him on the Sunday School Bus or during Vacation Bible School. I enjoyed when he taught the Sunday school class because he kept it simple based on the Word of God. When I arrived at church, he was always one of the first I looked for just to say hello. I will miss Joel, but I know that he is in heaven suffering no more. Based on his testimony I believe he was welcomed home by GOD in heaven.
Joel was a happy man every time you saw him and so generous to a fault. He and Annette brought us food and flowers when Tom was sick and we were home bound . I left Indiana in 1996, and this photo is the way that I will remember him looking. May The Lord bless all the family with peace and comfort.
I will always remember him by the nickname we gave him at the Camp Meeting in Mississippi, “the koolaid guy”. He always had a ready smile and a firm handshake. I will never forget him as long as I live. Heaven is a much sweeter place today. See you again my friend.
Prayers for Annette and the family. God Bless.
I have many fond memories of Joel, from camping, to just spending afternoons listening to Joel and my Dad (Don Walters) sharing stories about life, deer hunting, and hopes for future endeavors. Joel had an uncanny way of calming a tense situation by his unique laugh and by putting his arm around their shoulder, sometimes without saying a word and it always lightened the tension. Larry Perkins could be fuming mad over something, and Joel would start laughing ,Larry would almost always say “Joel Moore what is so funny” Joel would just keep chuckling the madder Larry got, but I always remember Larry eventually laughing too and saying” I love you Joel Moore”. I don’t think anybody enjoyed deer hunting Camp Atterbury more than Joel, I recall him making the most impressive shot I have ever seen. Joe was always had an upbeat spirit even if things didn’t turn out as planned. As I grew older I recall conversations about business and life that at the time I thought we were just sharing our opinions on topics, but it was his humble way of giving advice. Joel you will be missed but never forgotten.
