Gordon W. Vaughn, 83, Coatesville, passed away suddenly January 11, 2018. Gordon was born May 3, 1934, in Indianapolis, to the late Charles E. and Jeanette (Whicker) Vaughn.

He graduated from Stilesville High School and served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Gordon worked for the Indianapolis Stockyards, McLean Trucking, and retired from Yellow Freight after many years. An honest man, full of integrity, Gordon was a hard worker who led by example. He was always there for his family and especially enjoyed family gatherings. He and his beloved wife, LaVonne, enjoyed many winters in Florida where they enjoyed lots of friendships and good memories. Gordon will be fondly remembered by a loving family and many friends.

Survivors include his wife, LaVonne (Pickett) Vaughn; son, Steve Vaughn; daughter, Stephany (Jeff) Myrick; grandchildren, Bradley Vaughn (fiancé Ashley), Tyson (Charley) Myrick, Brittney (Heath) Hayes; one great grandchild, Letty Hayes.

Friends and family will gather on Monday, January 15, 2018, 4 to 8 p.m., in the chapel at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. The funeral service will begin at 10 a.m., Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Stilesville Cemetery. Such special friends, so many wonderful memories, ESA events with husbands, planning SHS reunions; making decorations and name tags, drinking sweet tea in the sunny kitchen; laughing and playing cards in the dining room.
