Zella M. Jones

96, of Plainfield, passed away on December 31, 2017 at Plainfield Health Care. Zella was born on September 21, 1921 in Casey County, Kentucky to the late Franklin Pierce Wilham and Mary Eliza (Earls) Wilham.

At the age of 14, she and her family moved from Kentucky to Morgan County where she spent most of her life, until retiring to Florida for many years, then moved back to Indiana in the last few years to be closer to her family. During her years in Florida, her home was open to many guests whom she always made feel welcome. She was a caregiver to several people, including her parents and cared for them with a strong and generous heart.

She was preceded in death by her husband Archie James Jones, son; Earnest Wynn Good, granddaughter; Lee Ann Bridgewater Hinshaw, sisters; Lula Haggard Brown, Amanda Haggard Bowmer, Anna Wilham Parrish, brothers; Charles Wilham, Joseph Oatley Haggard and Eli Haggard.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter; Judith Good Draper of Martinsville, brother; Arvil Wilham of Tipton, grandchildren; Paula, Shannon, Carla, Evi, a special grandson in law Mike and several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews, whom she loved very much!

Visitation will be held Wednesday from 4-8pm at Carlisle- Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11am in the funeral home. Burial will follow the services in West Union Cemetery, Monrovia.

Memorial contributions may be made in Zella’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association.
