Chester Phillip Chappell

Chester Phillip Chappell, 92, Mooresville, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family on December 23, 2017. Mr. Chappell was born June 29, 1925, in Indianapolis, to the late Amber D. and Cordia Pearl (Crabtree) Chappell.

He proudly served in the United States Marine Corp during World War II. Mr. Chappell worked as a toolmaker for WABCO for 35 years. He was a longtime and active member of the Westside Church of the Nazarene. More recently, he attended New Life Community Wesleyan Church in Mooresville. Mr. Chappell was a loving husband and father who enjoyed traveling and going out to eat with his family. He will be fondly remembered by his loving family and many friends.

Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Evelyn (Pierson) Chappell, to whom he was united in marriage June 15, 1948; son, Ronald D. Chappell of Texas; daughter, Sharon (Bill) Young of Mooresville; brother, Robert Chappell of Indianapolis.

Friends and family will gather Thursday, December 28, 2017, 10 a.m. until 12 Noon in the chapel at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. Pastor Mike Linville will officiate the 12 Noon funeral service. Entombment will be in Floral Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Gideons International.
