My Uncle Phillip was one of a kind for sure. I always looked forward to seeing him and Aunt Susie from a very young age to the last time I saw him just a few weeks ago. He was always joyful and positive no matter what life dealt him. You never knew what clever words would come out of his mouth. He loved my mother (his oldest sibling) so very much and always made sure that she was okay. He visited her often although we did not live close by. My kids loved him and their visits as well. They couldn’t wait for the presents that they would shower them with and the special attention that they would receive.
He will be missed so very much but I am thankful to have been privileged enough to call him my Uncle.
So many stories come to mind but each and every one of them involve his sense of humor and hearty laugh. That is how I choose to remember him.
I worked in Plant Engineering at Eli Lilly & Company and got to know Phil over the years as we worked on various projects. Phil was a hard worker and respected employee who could always be counted on to do whatever needed to be done on the various projects to which he was assigned. His personality and work ethic made him a valuable and trusted employee and friend to all who worked with him. He was a great guy!! May God bless his family as they mourn his passing.
