Marvin L. Burris, 49, Mooresville, passed away suddenly April 29, 2017, from a massive heart attack. Marvin was born November 12, 1967, in Danville, to the late Ira Junior Burris and Barbara (Baumgartner) Burris, who survives.

Marvin graduated from Mooresville High School in 1986 and attended IUPUI. Marvin was a respected real estate agent, having worked for RE/MAX, Carpenter, and most recently was the manager of Berkshire Hathaway in Mooresville. Marvin was a member of MIBOR and the Indiana Association of Realtors. He also served as the chairman of the Morgan County Board of Health. He enjoyed drawing, was an avid coffee drinker and was a regular at the Starbucks in Camby. He also enjoyed working out at Core Fitness and being a part of the weekend staff there. Marvin will be fondly remembered for his generous spirit and his infectious smile. Above all, he was a loving husband, proud father and grandfather.

Survivors include his wife, Leslie (Shirar) Burris; children, Lexi Sallee (Logan), Taelar Burris, and Mason Burris; mother, Barbara Burris; brothers, Mike and Melvin Burris; granddaughter, Penelope Sallee.

Friends and family will gather to celebrate the life of Marvin L. Burris on Tuesday, May 2, 2017, 4 to 8 p.m., at the Mooresville Eagles, 451 Samuel Moore Parkway, Mooresville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to help offset funeral expenses by visiting www.CarlisleBranson.com. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville.

  18. Marvin served on the Mibor RPAC Board with me and I enjoyed him so much. He was well informed about the happenings economically and politically in his County and wanted what was best for the people there and for his family. My prayers and thoughts are with all of you.
