Bailey Matthew Briere, 20, Mooresville, passed away suddenly February 21, 2017. Bailey was born November 3, 1996, in Indianapolis, to Billy M. and Julie (Cookenour) Briere.

Bailey grew up in Mooresville and graduated from Mooresville High School in 2015. He attended Indiana State University and Ivy Tech. Bailey had been employed at Walmart in Camby in the automotive service center. A loving, loyal, kind, considerate, and faithful young man, Bailey enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was an inquisitive and intelligent student who always questioned how things worked. Bailey loved his family and was especially protective of his younger sister. A hard working person, he was especially proud of his 1999 GMC K2500 truck. Bailey enjoyed being a part of the Grace Church student ministry. Bailey’s memory will be forever cherished by his loving family and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Donald Briere and Sharon Campbell and his maternal grandparents, Jacob and Verna Cookenour.

Survivors include his parents, Billy and Julie Briere; sister, Jenna Briere; special girlfriend, Victoria Smith; aunts and uncles, Jimmy, Regina, Joe, John, and Jeff; a host of loving cousins.

Friends and family will gather on Saturday, February 25, 2017, 2 to 6 p.m., in the chapel at
Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. The service to celebrate Bailey’s life will follow at 6 p.m. Pastor and Nate Patterson will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Grace Church Student Ministries, PO Box 235, Mooresville, IN 46158. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.   1. I am devastated to learn of Bailey’s passing. He was a kind, funny, smart boy. I was lucky to have both Bailey and Jenna as students. Your entire family has been such a blessing to me. I have no words to ease your pain. Just know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers. Hold tight to one another, and know that an entire community grieves with you.

  11. Since the moment I met Bailey I knew he’d always be an awesome friend! Thanks for being someone to joke with at church or say hey to in the halls at school! I remember one day it snowed and the parking lot was plowed and bailey parked his truck up on the big bank of snow just to be a goof ball! That’s how I’ll always remember him! The guy who could always make you laugh and one who had a huge heart! Catch a big fish up there! Rest with love ❤️

  16. Our prayers are with the Briere family as they face each new day. My daughter and my daughter-in-law graduated with Bailey and went to Grace together. They had nothing but love and respect for him. He was a true friend, always loving and kind. He will be missed very much. May God comfort your steps as you walk this new path until you see him again.

I remember growing up as kids with you man am just hanging out down the street at my grandparents you were always so funny and goofy and polite well mannered kid I will never forget you or your spirit from trading Yugi-oh cards to Pokémon cards to just going out in your backyard an fishing or pestering your sister we had some good times together an I will never forget you bailey an I hope you your spirit an angel fly high brother love you!!!!!
