William R. "Bill" Danes

William R. “Bill” Danes, 68, of Camby, passed away December 5, 2016 at Franciscan St. Francis Health in Mooresville. The son of Osie (Hubbard) Danes, Bill was born October 22, 1948 in Indianapolis; his mother preceded him in death. On March 30, 1968 he was united in marriage to Linda L. (Wilcher) Danes and she survives.
Bill was a 1966 graduate of Mooresville High School and worked as an area manager for Allison Gas Turbin division of General Motors for 19 years; he retired in 1993. Bill enjoyed fishing, baseball, softball, Cincinnati Reds Baseball, IU Basketball, playing cards and pool. A man with a great sense of humor, Bill always had a story to tell and was the life of the party. A loving brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother-in-law, and a true friend, Bill’s memory will be cherished by his loving family and many friends.
Along with his mother, Bill was also preceded in death by his brother, Steven Danes; and two sisters, Gloria Luurtsema and Georgia Bridgewater.
Survivors include his loving wife, Linda; two daughters, Celeste Clark (Doug Barry) of Mooresville and Charady (Darrin) Greene of Mooresville; brother, Jerry (Vicky) Danes of Texas; sister, Karen Wymer of South Carolina; five precious grandchildren, Kalib Clark, Aerial Clark, Deklen Greene, Breken Greene, and Tinley Greene; brother-in-law, Don Wilcher of Mooresville; sister-in-law, Lora (Mike) Hoffman of Mooresville; and three nephews, Christopher Wilcher, Benjamin Hunter, and Tyler Hoffman.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Bill Danes on Thursday, December 8, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the chapel at Carlisle-Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 9, 2016 at the funeral home. Burial will take place privately at a later date at White Lick Cemetery in Mooresville.
