Edna “Louise” (Bain) Smith, 89 of Mooresville, passed away at her home on Sunday, October 30, 2016. The daughter of Howard and Juanita (Perry) Bain, Louise was born November 21, 1926 in Five Points; her parents preceded her in death. On March 25, 1947, she was united in marriage to her husband, Ronald W. Smith and he preceded her in death on January 7, 2004.

A life-long resident of Mooresville, Louise graduated from Mooresville High School with the class of 1944; she was a loving and caring homemaker for most of her life. She was a member of Mt. Gilead Church. She enjoyed bowling and was a member of the Plainfield Women’s Bowling Association, serving as secretary for many years. She was a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post #1111 in Mooresville. Louise enjoyed genealogy, tracing all sides of her family back to the 1700’s; she also enjoyed fishing, gardening and cooking for her family.

Along with her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her son, Roger W. Smith; her grandson, Robin Smith; and two brothers, Howard “Bill” Bain and Clarence “Dick” Bain.

Survivors include her two daughters, Tari L. (Joe) Eversole of Mooresville and Traci R. Smith of Mooresville; daughter-in-law, Patti Hinshaw Smith of Mooresville; four grandchildren, Joseph (Holly Hinkhouse) Eversole, Justin Eversole, Alex Smith, and Adam Smith; two step-grandchildren, Cassidy and Craig Frost and her great granddaughter, Piper Jane Eversole.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Louise Smith from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 4, 2016 in the chapel at Carlisle-Branson Funeral Service & Crematory in Mooresville. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at White Lick Cemetery in Mooresville.
