James W. Hinners
September 21, 1941 ~ October 26, 2016
James W. Hinners, 75, Waverly, passed away October 26, 2016, in the Emergency Room at IU Health – Morgan Hospital. Mr. Hinners was born September 21, 1941, in Rush County, to the late Gilbert G. and Alice (Perry) Hinners. He married Kathy (Thompson) Hinners on June 29, 1962, and she survives.
Mr. Hinners graduated from Rushville High School in 1959 and proudly served in the United States Army during the Viet Nam War. He worked as a home builder superintendent for 15 years with Random Homes Wright Bachman and as a plumbing superintendent for Kellie Plumbing for 27 years. James was a jack of all trades and could fix simply anything. He was an avid train collector, both model and live steam. He was a member of Indiana Live Steamers (I.L.S) and Good Ole Ngineers. He also had been a member of Cintrak.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Floyd Lee and Donald Herbert Hinners.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy (Thompson) Hinners; children, John D. Hinners (Judy) of Fairbury, Nebraska, Regina A. Hinners-Alleman (Blaine) of Waverly, and Ruben James Hinners (Tina) of Greencastle; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren.
Friends and family will gather to celebrate the life of James Hinners on Friday, October 28, 2016, 4 to 8 p.m. in the chapel at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m., Saturday, October 29, 2016. Burial will be in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Waverly.
