Amy Jo Greene

Amy Jo (Mason) Greene, 42, Brooklyn, passed away suddenly September 5, 2016. Amy was born August 19, 1974, in Martinsville, to the late Charles William Mason and Dianne (Powell) Mason, who survives.

Amy graduated from Martinsville High School in 1992. She worked for the Morgan County Plan Commission for several years. More recently, she has been a substitute teacher in various Mooresville schools. Above all, Amy enjoyed being a loving and caring wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend to many. She was a member of Crossroads Church in Mooresville. Having overcome a drug addiction over ten years ago, Amy was energetic and full of life. She will be missed by a loving family and many friends.

Survivors include her husband of 23 years, Jason W. Greene; children, Hannah Dianne Greene and Ethan Wayne Greene; mother, Dianne (Powell) Mason of Martinsville; sisters, Shannon Bennington and Lisa Pottorff of Martinsville; a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Friends and family will gather from 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday, September 8, 2016, in Crossroads Church, 210 Wheeler Street, Mooresville. The funeral service will begin at 1p.m., Friday, September 9, 2016, in the chapel at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. Burial will be in Centerton Cemetery.   6. I did not know Amy well but she was always the smiling friendly woman who would greet me when I visited her church or attended an event. People like Amy are angels on earth. She certainly will leave a hole in the heart of all those who loved her. Prayers for strength for her family as they face the days ahead.

I’ve known Amy for several years thru her sister, altho didn’t see her as often as I used to, but every time she would have a bright smile or when she called the place of business I work at you could hear the joy in her voice, it saddens me to hear of this, such a high spirited young lady taken way too soon, may God lay his hands upon this family and give them the strength they need to get thru this, my thoughts and prayers go up for the Mason and Greene families during this time
