Donald C. Purvis, 55, Mooresville, passed away July 14, 2016. Don was born April 5, 1961, in Indianapolis to the late John A. Purvis and Sue Ann (Pickerel) Purvis, who survives.
Don graduated from Cascade High School and attended Indiana University. For more than 15 years, he worked at Eli Lilly & Company as a Senior Specialist in Quality Control. Don was a member of Life Line Baptist Church in Camby. A jack of all trades, he could fix anything and was never afraid of starting a project. FAMILY was most important to Don. He was happiest when he was around his children, grandchildren, and extended family. One of his new favorite pastimes was being with his grandchildren who he simply adored. He enjoyed family gatherings, holidays, and just everyday visits with family and friends. Don will be missed by a loving family and many friends.
Survivors include his children, John R. Purvis of Mooresville, Amanda M. Smith (Jared) of Mooresville, and Amber G. Purvis (Jeremy) of Mooresville; mother, Sue Ann Purvis of Clayton; brother, Michael Purvis (Cassandra) of Clayton; sister, Brenda Griffith (Michael) of Clayton; grandchildren, Rowan and Cainan Smith; multiple nieces and nephews
Friends and family will gather to celebrate the life of Donald C. Purvis on Sunday, July 17, 2016, 2 to 6 p.m., in the chapel at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. The funeral service will be officiated by Pastor Tim A. Lindsey, II, on Monday, July 18, 2016, 10 a.m., in Life Line Baptist Church, 11387 N. Slideoff Road, Camby. One of the nicest guys with the biggest hearts I’ve ever known. He will be missed more than words could ever say. I will miss our long talks about our children and grandchildren. I am lucky to have worked with Don for so many years and even luckier to have called him my friend. My prayers go out to John and the girls, and if you guys need anything please let me know.

I am so sorry to hear about Don and for the loss to his family. Don was always a guy who was nice to everyone around him! My prayers are with the family!
To a great man who could not have loved his family more. We had many chats at work but it always came back to the love he had for his children and grandchildren. You will be truly missed Don.
I worked with Don at Eli Lilly, and we shared conversations over the years of the love he had for his children and grandchildren. He will be missed; my thoughts and prayers are with you.
I met Don a few months ago at Lilly, and one thing was immediately visible: he is a super kind guy and loves his family. I was very impressed when he signed his emails with a picture of him and a grand-child. Please accept my sincere condolences.

I’m saddened to hear of the passing of my friend. Every time we passed each other at work, he always talked about his kids & grandkids. He was soooo proud of that! We had a history of playing Texas hold ’em. He was actually really good at it. We talked about getting the guys together again for another night of cards!! ‘DP’ was such a great guy!!! I will miss him terribly!
I am sure going to miss him and seeing all the pics of his grand daughter. Don was a great person to talk with at work he was really funny at times and passionate about his job. So sorry for your loss.

I’m so saddened to learn of Don’s passing. He was a truly good person who cared deeply for others. His kids and granddaughter was almost always the topic of conversation when we would chat. He will be missed by many.
