Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Marian was the first manager I had at Citizens Bank. I will always remember her passion for helping our customers and her zeal for Halloween! I’m so very sorry to hear of her passing.

  2. I was shocked to see this about Marian. We were friends thru the years and growing up she lived down the road from us. She was one sweet person. So sorry for the family’s loss .

  3. Dan, I am so sorry to hear about Marian. She was a sweet woman and helped me alot when I first started at Citizens Bank. I really owe my career I had there to her. Prayers to you and family.

  4. Leroy, Danny, Andy and families, My deepest sympathies on Marian’s passing. I have many fond memories of growing up with Marian and of time spent with the Stanley family. Growing up we always enjoyed going to visit the Stanleys. Marian honored me by asking me to be one of Andy’s Godparents. The miles have separated us for many years now, but the Stanley family remains close to me in my heart. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Love and best wishes to all, Paul Grosskreutz

  5. Marian is my only aunt on my father’s side and one of the first ‘strong woman’ I can remember growing up. I can remember being in awe of her grace and sophistication. She always looked like someone that just stepped out a movie, wearing her stylish suits and smelling like Red Door perfume. I can remember being excited for Christmas because she always made sure to get me a grown up gift, like Jewelry, makeup, or perfume, when others got me barbies. She was a strong woman that exuded confidence and made people take notice. She was a very loving and proud mother and doted on Andy as much as possible. She was so proud of the man he had become and talked about Emma and Drew often. She was a pure Momma’s girl. One of the last conversations I can remember having with her was about how bad she missed her mother and that even when we get older there is still times you just need to talk to your mom. She joked about shopping trips with Grandma where they raced home to get there before Grandpa knew they had been gone and to hide all the bags, and several times they even passed him on the road without him knowing. They say that there are far, far better things ahead than any that we leave behind, and as much as it pains me to know she is gone and the hurt her son, father, and brother feel, I know that she is out on her next adventure shopping with her mom and catching up on all the girl talk they have missed out on over the many years they have been without each other.

  6. Marian & I had reconnected recently & I am so grateful for that! Everything Jennifer said about Marian is so true. She was a classy lady & she will be greatly missed!

  7. Marian. Moved across the hall from us, so we haven’t known her very long. She was lovely lady and had a great sense of humor. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family at this difficult time. God Bless

  8. Marian was the Brown Twp Trustee who hired me for my dream job in emergency medical services. That was in August of 1988 and I’m still here. I had seen her the past few years after she retired from Citizens Bank she was working at the Greenwood Meijer part-time and then later at the Meridian Parke Kroger. Always smiling and glad to see me. Her father, LeRoy also worked part-time in the trustee’s office and was one of the kindest men I have ever known. So sorry for this loss.

  9. My dearest Marian, You will be missed so much. I remember the first time I met you. I thought such an elegant and stunning woman and that you had the prettiest legs. We liked each other instantly. You were always Andy’s biggest fan and supporter. There was never a doubt that Andy was the apple of your eye. How proud you were to see the little boy grow up to be this wonderful man he is today. It was your love that fueled Andy. Now know that we will stand by and with your son to add the fuel as he travels life’s road without you. Marian you will forever been in my heart. I will miss you my friend. I know that God has wrapped his arms around you in peace and love. Until we met again. All my love Teta Georgia.

  10. What a beautiful, classy, and caring woman that I had the privilege of starting my banking career with. I owe my love for banking and my love for my customers to her. She guided and gave unconditionally not only to her staff, but to her customers. Each and every one of them loved her and had a very high respect for her. Marian, I pray I have done you proud for I now guide and give unconditionally from the very same desk. May you rest in peace- I love you!

  11. Marian was my only aunt from my father’s side. I have some very fond memories about my aunt. Some of my greatest memories are of Christmas. I can remember always looking forward to celebrating Christmas with my aunt. I was always in awe of her elaborate Christmas decorations and beautiful tree. She always was anxious and excited for us to open our gifts from her. She loved making others feel loved and important. She was such a kind and loving person with a big heart. Any chance I had, I loved spending time with her. I can also remember my dad always pestering her, like a little brother should. He played countless pranks on her. I remember one in particular that involved an ape suit my dad dresses up in. He really got her that night! I was fortunate enough to be able to spend some quality time with her before she passed. She was able to spend time with my twins and even brought them gifts. She talked on and on about her grandchildren Emma and Drew. We also reminisced about her childhood with my dad, grandpa, and grandma. It was a day I really enjoyed and was glad she seemed to enjoy it as well. I am so grateful of the time I did get to spend with her. Although she is gone now, all the memories will last forever.

  12. Marian, a great friend and neighbor. Our children grew up together from Kindergarten through High School. We shared many laughs all those years. They are great memories. You will be sadly missed.

  13. I am heartbroken to hear the loss of my previous friend Marian Hofer. I will miss her dearly, I have wonderful memories of special times we were together. I’m sending a letter your way tomorrow. I love you………

  14. To Sis, Thank you for being my big sister from day one! You always looked after me. We had a lot of good times when we were young, the badmitten and crocket games. We loved to mushroom hunting at Lynn Whites house. We had good times riding our horses down to gold creek road. and going in the creek with our dog Jack always following us. It was a innocent time in our lives that I will never forget. I remember when I use to make you mad when people would say you were my sister and I would say you were adopted. Boy did our mom and dad treat us to a great childhood we couldn’t have asked for more. I remember going to the Martinsville fall festival parade and letting everyone know that was my big sister marching down the street. You were my hero. You were always there for me. I’m sorry I couldn’t have been there for you when you died. A part of me died with you. I will see you again in Heavin and I love you more than I could have ever said to you. Love you forever DAn
