rodney zigler

July 17, 1956 ~ March 9, 2016

Rodney J. Zigler, 59 of Plainfield, passed away peacefully at his home on March 9, 2016. Rodney was born July 17, 1956 in Daviess County, Indiana to Palmer and Betty (Groves) Zigler; his parents survive. On November 30, 2007 he was united in marriage to his loving wife, Sandra (Sears) Zigler.

Rodney really enjoyed being able to travel the country while working for Harold Sears Enterprises, Inc. in Jamestown for the past ten years; he was able to see sights throughout the United States that he had never seen before and enjoyed sharing these experiences with his buddies and co-workers. He enjoyed fishing, golf, camping, and woodworking; but most importantly, he enjoyed spending quality time with his grandchildren. Always placing the needs of others before his own, even during his illness, Rodney was a loving husband and caregiver to his wife Sandra.

Along with his wife and parents, he also survived by his two children, Jacob (Crystal) Zigler of Advance, IN and Jessica (Christopher) Taylor of Brownsburg; three step-sons, Glenn (Christa) Ray of Avon, Trevor (Lindsey) Smith of Indianapolis and Jordan Smith of Plainfield; three brothers, Rick (Debbie) Zigler of Filmore, Indiana, Steve Zigler of Clayton, Indiana and Greg (Shirley) Zigler of Indianapolis; one sister, Pam (Tim) Atchley of Shelby County, Indiana; eight grandchildren, Rodney, Caleb, Layna, James, Lilly, Noah, Kean, Jackson and one on the way.
