William Burns, 64, Edinburgh, died February 25, 2016. Mr. Burns was born April 23, 1951, in Martinsville, to the late Harold and Betty (Brown) Burns.

He graduated from Martinsville High School in 1969 and proudly served in the United States Air Force, stationed Grand Forks AFB. Mr. Burns was an accomplished wood carver and specialized in totem poles. He owned and operated Loan Pine Refinishing for 20 years. He also worked for Bullock Furniture, White’s Antique, and L.S. Ayres. He loved his Super 55 Oliver Tractor, his Belgium horses, and all of his beloved dogs that he cared for through the years.

Survivors include one son, Tony Burns and his wife, Krissy, of Mooresville; a grandson, Justin Burns; longtime companion, Joanie Destefano of Edinburgh.

Bill was a member of the Brooklyn Christian Church, where a memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 28, 2016, 3 p.m. Friends may call there from 2 p.m. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Carlisle - Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville.
