Bruce was a special man, my fond memory of him; it was 1975 Bruce had that red Roadrunner with the 383, it was fast. Bruce & I both went half days to school so by 10:30 or 11am we were done, I worked at Gray’s Restaurant. One day after school I was walking to work at Grays’, I was heading south on Indiana Street, about where the old Kendricks Hospital was, (it was apartments by then), well here comes Bruce torkin’ up the street from school, he stops next to me and ask do I need a ride, “Hell yes I need a ride.” as I get in Bruce says “Hold on to the dash,” I looked at him, it made no sense, why, hold on to the dash, he spit out his window and nailed the throttle, oh sh_t the seats weren’t bolted down, I went flying rearward with no hope of grabbing that dash. Bruce laughed so hard he almost swallowed his chew. That’s how I remember Bruce.
Our prayers are with you all. I know this will be a great loss for the entire family. Tim and I were totally shocked Bruce was a one of a kind guy he will be greatly missed.
