Michael L. "Buddy" Barley

Michael L. “Buddy” Barley, Jr., 45, Indianapolis, formerly of Martinsville, died January 9, 2016. Buddy was born September 18, 1970, in Martinsville to the late Michael L. Barley, Sr. and Janet (May) Barley, who survives.

He attended Martinsville High School. A talented and accomplished carpenter, he worked as a self-employed drywall finisher for a number of years. More recently, he worked at All Points Tree Service in Indianapolis. Buddy enjoyed wood carving and fishing. Described as a kind, caring, gentle soul who did not know a stranger, he will be missed by a loving family and many friends.

Survivors include his son, Justin Barley (April) of Martinsville; mother, Janet (May) Barley of Indianapolis; sister, Gina Barley of Indianapolis; grandsons, Lane and Brodi Barley; grandmothers, Julia Remster of Mooresville and Azalee Masten of Indianapolis.

Friends and family will gather from 4 to 7 p.m., Thursday, January 14, 2016, in the chapel at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. Pastor Ron Wagner will officiate the 7 p.m. funeral service. Cremation will follow at the Morgan County Crematory. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army Harbor Lights Center, 2400 N. Tibbs Ave., Indianapolis, IN 46222. Buddy I remember the day we first met, our first bus ride, the summers we spent out running the woods and playing, the winters we spent sledding, the little arguments we had, and oh…..the crush I had on you. The notes we passed back and forth on the bus…the famous ‘Do you love me?’ Check yes or no. Those are memories I will always hold dear to my heart. I will miss you my dear friend….until we meet again.

  14. My Dear sweet Buddy, I am so glad you are my son. I will miss you so much! You were loved by so many people, I loved hearing the wonderful memories everyone shared with me. The one constant was your smile, your generous heart and of course how good looking you are. I am so proud of you and how giving you were of yourself to others , always there to help in any way you could.
