So disheartening to hear Doug has passed away. I’ve many a fond childhood memory of him. This trying time causes me to think about my favorite poet, Veronica Shoffstall. She wrote ‘With every goodbye you learn’. Henry Ward Beecher said ‘We go to the grave of a friend saying a man is dead, but angels throng around him saying a man is born.’ Death is not the end, if the caterpillar teaches us anything. Doug’s song might have ended, but the melody lingers on. I’ll see you again. Love you, Doug. I’m Henry the 8th I am! -Loyd M. Hornsby
