Jesse B. Cornett
December 11, 1939 ~ August 6, 2015
Jesse B. Cornett, 75 of Mooresville, passed away suddenly on the morning of August 6, 2015. He was born December 11, 1939 in Hazard, Kentucky to the late Lawrence and Martha (Hogston) Cornett. On November 11, 1960 Jesse was united in marriage to the love of his life, Josephine (Wilkerson) Cornett; she survives. He worked as an electrician at Brehob Electric in Indianapolis for many years. A true “motorhead” Jesse enjoyed restoring old cars and trucks having rebuilt a 1955 Chevy and a 1954 Chevy Pickup of his own and was a member of Old Cars Only Gang. Jesse also proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy.
Other survivors include his two sons, Steven L. Cornett of Mooresville and Gregory S. (Wife: Chastie) Cornett of Indianapolis; five brothers, Franklin, Richard, Bill, Manual and Calvin Cornett; two sisters, Nancy Cornett and Hettie Hansmon and four grandchildren, Tyler and Nicholas Cornett, Zachary Spencer and Zoey Cornett.
Family and friends gather for visitation in the chapel at Carlisle-Branson Funeral Service & Crematory in Mooresville on Sunday, August 9 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 10 in the funeral home.
