John W. Taylor

John W. Taylor, 61 of Worthington, Indiana passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 12, 2015 at IU Health Hospice House in Bloomington after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born July 19, 1953 in Coal City, Indiana to the late Donald Lee Taylor and Beaulah Faye (Bowersock) Taylor-Harris.

A long-time resident of Mooresville, John owned and operated Taylor Excavating for more than 35 years; he retired three years ago due to his failing health. On June 2, 1974 John married the love of his life, Lillie Mae (Bland) Taylor; she survives. John and Lillie attended Crossland Baptist Church in Stilesville. Other survivors include his son, Larry D. Taylor (Sharon Goode) of Mooresville; granddaughter, Hayley Taylor of Mooresville; one brother, Mike L. (Brenda “Sis”) Taylor of Mooresville, and two sisters, Donna F. Shelby of Camby and Anna Cobb of Indianapolis.

Family and friends will gather for visitation on Thursday, July 16 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the chapel at Carlisle-Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville and from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 17 at the funeral home. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Walker Cemetery near Worthington, Indiana.   1. It’s been a little over six months since my ‘Snugglebunny’ my sweet Johnny went to Heaven. I still miss him just as much today as I did then. He will always be forever in my heart and in my thoughts. My best friend is gone now, but will reunite some day. My heart still feels like it has a hole in it that can never be fixed, until I see that sweet smile again some day, and he takes my hand, and we will be forever together in all eternity. I love you dearly my forever sweetheart ‘My Johnny’!

  2. I would just like to say, that it has been over a year now since my sweet Johnny passed, and I can tell you that I miss him just as much today as the day he passed. I think of him every day. My heart still weeps. Life will never be the same without him, but you do learn to make the best of it. I love him so much and I always will. They will never be another to take his place.
