Mary M. Schafer

Mary M. (Crain) Schafer, 97 of Mooresville died Sunday, July 5 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Mooresville. She was born June 16, 1918 in Indianapolis to the late Houston P. and Pearl B. (Davis) Crain. On December 27, 1941 she married Sylvester A. Schafer; he preceded her in death on July 5, 1975.
Mary worked as a waitress at Poe Brother’s Cafeteria and for many years at Pat’s Tavern.
Survivors include her son, Steven P. Schafer of Indianapolis; daughter, Barbara Ann Schafer of Mooresville; four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Her son, Jerry L. Schafer also preceded her in death.
There will be a graveside service conducted for Mary at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at Mooresville Cemetery where she will be buried next to her husband. Steve, Barb and family. I have thought so much about Mary over the last few years. I think the last time I got to see her was when my mom passed away. I have so many wonderful memories when we were kids and back then we seemed more like family than neighbors. Keeping you guys in my thoughts and prayers.
