Betty J. “Becky” Jenkins, died the morning of June 24, 2015 in the comfort of her own home surrounded by her loving family; she was 55 years old. Born July 3, 1959 in Indianapolis her parents were Fuston and Helen (Taylor) Powell and they preceded her in death. On October 30, 1975 she married the love of her life, Steven R. Jenkins; he survives.
A loving wife and devoted mother, Betty also worked in Indianapolis for a number of years as a supervisor in the cleaning services industry until she retired in 2002 due to her health conditions. She was a member of Valley Mills Christian Church in Decatur Township. Betty loved to spend time with her family, traveling with Steve to popular gaming cities to pull on slot machines, and playing games on the internet.
Along with her husband, other survivors include her son, Steven R. Jenkins, II of Mooresville; daughter, Becca Jenkins of Indianapolis; step-son, Michael Jones of Chicago; two brothers, Bobby Powell of Mooresville and Billy (Tracie) Powell of Indianapolis; two sisters, Barbara (Chris) Limeberry of Mooresville and Linda (Carl) Garrett of Avon; and four grandchildren, Brandon Cashen, Steven K. Jenkins, Jaylin Jenkins, and Xander Jenkins. Two brothers and two sisters also preceded Betty in death.
Family and friends will gather from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 28, 2015 in the chapel at Carlisle-Branson Funeral Service & Crematory in Mooresville. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 29 at the funeral home followed by entombment at Floral Park Cemetery in Indianapolis. There will never be a day in my life that i wont think of you weather it be a funny memory like our karaoke night or simply me just missing you. I love and miss you more and more everyday!
