Doris A. Riggs, 53, Martinsville, died suddenly at home March 10, 2015. Doris was born January 26, 1962, in Illinois.
Prior to dealing with significant health issues during the last several years, she worked for more than 20 years at Amos – Hill & Associates in Edinburgh. Doris enjoyed helping her husband in the garden and had a smile that could light up a room. She will be fondly remembered by a loving family and a host of devoted friends.
Doris was preceded in death by her mother, Pauline and her brother, Leo.
Survivors include her husband, Mike Riggs; children, Jennifer Pence, Eric Burton, Dustin Riggs, and Amber Riggs; grandchildren, Sierra and Savanah.

Dorie was a great mom and a great listener and advice giver. Anytime I needed her she was truly there. She had the best sense of humor and a laugh that was infectious. She was my parent, no ‘step’ involved. I love her so much and will miss her terribly.

Doris… You were just about the happiest and most honest person I knew. Your smile and good heart came from a place that I just knew was honest. To a friend, most people need to have long period of time to get to know someone really well but with you that was not necessary. Thank you for your advice when I really needed it with your support and knowledge I got to know what was needed in a really tough situation. Thank you for always being there for me.
