Donald L. Trosper, 76, Mooresville, died on his 55th wedding anniversary, February 21, 2015, in Meadow Lakes. Mr. Trosper was born September 1, 1938, in Plainville, Indiana, to the late John Henry and Anna Marie (Thomas) Trosper.

He graduated from Shortridge High School in Indianapolis. Mr. Trosper proudly served in the United States Air Force for 20 years, retiring in 1977. He was stationed in Iceland, Dolphin Island, Alabama, San Antonio, Texas, Alaska, Ohio, the Philippines, Virginia, and retired while in Colorado. He then worked for the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier for 20 years.
He enjoyed flying radio controlled airplanes and was an avid deer hunter. Don was known for a dry and funny sense of humor; he will be missed by a loving family and many friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, John Wesley Trosper and one brother, Paul Trosper.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Karen (Grant) Trosper, to whom he was united in marriage February 21, 1960; sons, Faron Trosper (Tana) of Mooresville and David Trosper (Trish) of Mooresville; grandchildren, Kyle Cherry, Brittany Trosper, Clinton Trosper, Megan Cherry, Kaitlyn Trosper, and Bailey Cherry.

Friends and family will gather on Tuesday, February 24, 2015, 4 to 8 p.m. in the chapel at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m., Wednesday, February 25, 2015, in the funeral home. Burial, with full military honors, will be in White Lick Cemetery, Mooresville.   1. Our hearts and prayer’s are with the entire Trosper family… Don was such a good mail man and neighbor …That big red truck it was Don,I’m sure gonna miss seeing him

  2. Karen & family, so sorry to hear of Don’s passing. We loved Don, he was a lot of fun to be around, such a good person! One memory we always talk about is when Don got that huge buck from the tree house. He was so proud & we were too! It was so big that Richard, Don & I (Pat) couldn’t get it in the truck bed, we had to call 3 guys to help. It was the favorite topic between the guys after that. Hi Aunt Karen and Family, I can remember when I was little, I could see from my window to Grandpa & Grandmas house and when I would see the camper that your family was their and couldn’t get dressed fast enough to come and see you all!   5. I have so many great memories of Don I couldnt begin to pick just one. He was a good father….I saw it first hand how firm but reasonable and understanding he was. He also had that quick wit and could tell a story that would make Mr Spock belly laugh. He along with my dad inspired me to join the Air Force….something I dont think I ever told him. He will be missed so very much by everyone but not forgotten. Keep em flying Don. Mitch

  6. What fond memories I have of Don and his love for model aviation. His help and advice at the field was always appreciated. I remember going to Muncie and watching him with his jumpers.   7. I will dearly miss the stories Don told. Particularly the ones about working with my dad on his Uncle Garner Trosper’s farm when they were teenagers.
