Leslie Andrew Ross passed away from this life June 24, 2014 at Millers Merry Manor in Mooresville, Indiana. He was born April 18, 1926 in Maxwell, Nebraska to William and Mary (Rasmussen) Ross.

He married Arlene Hall in 1947. They later divorced; to that union 4 children were born, Tom, Becky, Connie and Ron. In 1973 he married Shirley (Summers).

In 1964, Les started the Valley View Riding Stables, Ft. McPherson Campground and they ran it for 40 years, until he and Shirley retired to Mooresville, Indiana in 2004. In the years he was raising his children he was active member of the Baptist Church in Maxwell, serving as a Sunday school teacher and superintendent as well as a 4-H leader.

He served 30 years on the Lincoln County Noxious Weed board as well as the President of the Nebraska State Camping Association. He worked hard to encourage tourism in the area, receiving the Friends of tourism award in 2002.

Preceding him in death are his parents; his brothers, Carl, Robert (Harriet) Jesse Ross; sisters, Margaret, Francis, Helen (Albert) Sommer and his stepson Kirk Summers.

He leaves behind his wife, Shirley of Mooresville, Indiana; his sons, Thomas of Wheatland, Wyoming, Ronald of North Platte, Nebraska; his daughters, Rebecca (Martin) Howery of Johnstown Nebraska, Connie (Gerald) Devine of Morril Nebraska, his stepson J.D (Teresa) Summers of McCordsville, Indiana; his step daughter, Sherry (Gary) Crews of Mooresville, Indiana. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

A memorial service will be held on at 11:00AM, Friday, July 11, 2014 at Carpenters Memorial Chapel in North Platte with Pastor Scott McClellen officiating. Inurnment will be held at Plainview Cemetery in Maxwell Nebraska.

Services entrusted to both Carlisle-Branson Funeral Service in Mooresville, Indiana and Carpenters Memorial Chapel in North Platte, Nebraska.
