Esther Addie
January 23, 1924 ~ February 20, 2014
Esther Addie, 90, longtime Mooresville resident, died peacefully at home February 20, 2014. Esther was born January 23, 1924, in Indianapolis.
She graduated from Mooresville High School in 1942 and was employed as a secretary for 20 years. She worked for Earl Speicher for 16 years and retired in 1974. She was a member of the Mooresville Friends Church and had served as past president of Tri Kappa. She loved cheering on the Pacers and the Colts, working jigsaw puzzles, and shopping. Her attention to detail made her an excellent decorator and party planner. Esther will be missed by a loving family and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, L. Dee Addie; parents, William and Dora Henley; sister, Helen Louise Hurst.
Survivors include her daughter, Sherry Bodell of Mooresville; stepson, Ronald D. Addie (Cindy) of Martinsville; stepdaughter, Sheila Atherton (Rob) of Martinsville; grandchildren, Cathi Eicher, Heather Richards, Darci Bodell, Trevor Atherton, Brice Atherton, Katie Feeback, and Karri Thomas; eight great grandchildren.
Friends and family will gather Sunday, February 23, 2014, 4 to 6 p.m., in the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, with the service beginning at 6 p.m. The committal and burial service will be in the Mooresville Cemetery, Monday, February 24, 2014, at 11:30 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mooresville Friends Church. Sherry Bodell, I had no idea this was your mother. She was in Millers Assisted Living with my mother, Joyce Ringer. Esther was such a classy lady and so sweet. Mom always spoke so highly of her. So sorry to hear of her passing. Since Mom passed a year ago I do not keep up and see the ladies over there. My thoughts are with you and your family. Debbie (Ringer) Cornelius
Esther was a classy lady. I truely loved her dearly. She will remain in my heart forever. I was blessed to have called her my friend for 38 years. May you RIP Esther.

Sherry, I just learned from Susan Joyner about your mother’s passing. I am so sorry for your loss. I will keep you and the family in my thoughts and prayers. I hadn’t seen her for many years but looking at her picture I still recognize her from years ago…she was a beautiful lady..
