So pleased to hear from you all! We’ve always wondered about you. Could you send a quick note to my dad and he’ll share with us all. My husband and I visited with your parents in the early 90’s at their retirement community near Phoenix. I so enjoyed them! The loved they shared with us is still with me!! As young girls Cindy and I spent the weekend with them in Rochester. Your mom bought us pretty hankies. I still have that pink hankie with the fluffy gray kitten on it! They were precious people!
Hello Eric [Rick] Where Palmyra are you? Call me so we can connect 585-746-0299 or email me at Hank46@frontiernet.net John Armstrong
Mom was always glad to have company and would always greet them with a smile. I stopped in most everyday and she never tired of seeing me and especially her grandson, Jared. He was always anxious to surprise her with a loud ‘Boo’ and she never failed to act surprised! She’d then ask Jared what his plans were for the day. Her gift of hospitality made sure our stomachs never missed a meal. She’d ask us ‘ have you had breakfast yet?’ hoping we hadn’t so we could take her out to eat her favorite meal of the day. One of moms favorite places to eat breakfast was by Canandaigua Lake in Upstate New York. During the summer months when my sister’s and I were younger our family would get together with the Hedgepeth’s early in the morning at the park. The kids would jump into the lake while the mom’s fried bacon and eggs on the grill. Those were the most delicious and hearty breakfast’s ever! Mom with her desire to cook and serve great food invited many good friends to our table. The legacy she left me is the love for God, family, and food and how she nurtured and loved me with each of those. I’m thankful she remained faithful to the end…Celia
Thanks to Jo Ellen for sending me the Bereavement Card. I just got it today and called your Dad right away.
The Skorinko Family were an integral part of the Ministry at the Church of God, on Canadaigua Street in Palmyra, New York. You could always find Violet at the piano which she mastered the keyboard in playing all of our favorite hymns and pretty much at all of our services. Leon [Violet’s husband]’s brother Victor was our pastor for many years. We all know that we do not live on this earth forever and that we are only passing through. It will be a joy and a blessing when we meet Violet again ‘when we all get to Heaven’! May I express our sincerest condolences from the Armstrong Family who used to live in Walworth but are now spread over to Henrietta, Baldwinsville and Spencerport. May you find peace knowing that Violet now lives with many of our loved ones in the arms of our Savior.
