Darlene Long

Darlene Long, 67, Mooresville, died after a lengthy illness June 14, 2013, in Meadow Lakes, Mooresville. Darlene was born January 13, 1946, in Indianapolis, to the late William and Wetona (Sharpe) Lindsey.
Darlene graduated from Southport High School and was a proud homemaker and caregiver for her family. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Mooresville. While her children were growing up, she was an active volunteer at Newby Elementary and also was a Girl Scout leader. Darlene was a talented and accomplished seamstress. She made and sold elaborate dolls for a number of years as well. Above all, Darlene was very dedicated to her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Long; a son, Micah Joel Long; grandson, Tyler Ellsworth.
Survivors include her children, Scott Allen Long of Mooresville and Deanna Christine Ellsworth (Rob) of Mooresville; half-brothers, James, Darell, and Michael Lindsey; grandchildren, Roxane Long, Holly, Josh, Wyatt, and Sam Ellsworth.
The funeral service will begin at 7 p.m., Tuesday, June 18, 2013, in the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, with calling there from 4 p.m. Pastor Guy Lancour, of the First Baptist Church, Mooresville, will officiate. Cremation will follow the service at the Morgan County Crematory, Mooresville. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to the Autism Society of Indiana.
