Mary Eileen Farmer

Mary Eileen Farmer, 92, longtime Mooresville resident, passed away May 12, 2023, at Meadow Lakes. Mrs. Farmer was born July 7, 1930, in Montgomery County, to the late Willard and Prudence (Dain) Milner. She married Robert Edward Farmer on October 24, 1948, and he preceded her in death on December 3, 1997.
In addition to her vocation of being a loving wife, mother and grandmother, Eileen was an accomplished seamstress in Mooresville. She made countless wedding dresses, suits, and handled the alterations for many customers through the years. She was a longtime and faithful member of the First United Methodist Church. She was a member and officer of Kappa Kappa Sigma Sorority and was active with the Old Settlers Queen Contest for years. Additionally, she was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels, delivering well into her 80’s to many who were younger than she was. She was a wonderful cook, and her family fondly remembers the carrot cake, pecan pies, and beef & noodles that were regular items out of Eileen’s kitchen. An avid sports fan, Eileen loved to cheer for the IU Hoosiers, Cincinnati Reds, Colts, and the Pacers. She was also a Jeff Gordon fan and enjoyed following NASCAR. Eileen’s memory will be forever cherished by her loving family.
In addition to her parents and Bob, she was preceded in death by two sons, Lawrence, and Paul Willard “Bill” Farmer.
Survivors include her children, Leslie (Jill) Farmer and Cyndi (Gary) Church; sister, Esther Jones; grandchildren, Lauren Farmer, Tiffany Farmer, Susan Evans, Connor Dalton, Alex Craver, Laura Farmer, and Tyler Church; 11 great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren.
Eileen’s Life Celebration® Visitation and Funeral Service will be held at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 17, 2023, 4 to 8 p.m., and the funeral service will begin at 10 a.m., Thursday, May 18, 2023. The burial will be in the Mooresville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association or to the ALS Foundation. So sorry to hear of Eileen’s passing.

I believe she is the dear lady and seamstress who made all of my costumes for our cherished high school Variety Shows.
