Daniel Paul Barnes

April 5, 1977 ~ July 13, 2023
Daniel Paul Barnes, 46, Camby, passed away July 13, 2023, at his home, after years of battling heart disease. Daniel was born April 5, 1977, in Danville, to Danny and Beverly (Harris) Barnes, who survive. Daniel was introduced to the loved of his life, Kelly Jones, 26 years ago, and she also survives.
Daniel went to North Madison Elementary School and graduated from Mooresville High School in 1995. Fiercely independent and a man who marched to his own beat, Daniel worked in various fields during his 46 years. He worked in construction, was a forklift driver, worked with a private investigator, and worked for the United States Postal Service. He enjoyed being a forklift operator the most. His greatest vocation in life was that of a family man – he was a wonderful son, husband, dad, brother, uncle and DanDan to his grandchildren. Daniel was the rock in his family that made them all feel complete and safe.
Daniel loved all kinds of music and often shared music with family and friends to show his support of the various times they were encountering. He loved to cook and could make a meal out of an empty pantry. He showed his love and care for his family by cooking for them. Daniel was gifted with a great sense of humor and delighted in being generous to people – even strangers he did not know. Daniel Paul Barnes will be fondly remembered by his loving family and many friends for his kindness, ability to make others laugh, and his sensitivity.
Daniel is survived by his wife, Kelly; children, Breanna Rose Barnes, Jacob Daniel (Chasity) Barnes, Matthew Bradley (Laila) Barnes, and Samuel Joseph (Emma) Barnes; siblings, Michael (Michelle) Barnes and Jessica (Tony) Imburgia; grandchildren, Knox, Forryst, Boston, and one on the way; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins who all loved Daniel dearly.
The Barnes family will greet friends and family on Monday, July 17, 2023, 5 to 8 p.m., at the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory. Visit www.CarlisleBranson.com to share a favorite memory or to sign the online guest registry.

My deepest sympathy to Kelly, and to Daniel’s children and the rest of his family. Daniel was a friend since grade school and I will remember him most for his love of sharing music in his adult years. I know he has been sick with his heart but he was certainly still so young, and his loss was so unexpected. I’ll pray for comfort for all who loved him. He will be missed most definitely.

There will never be a kinder soul than yours and so many people know that. You could talk me out of any situation that I would put myself into and you were always right. I love you and I always will. What a blessing he was and is to me. When he was happy with you the world was right. When he was not, well nothing was “right” until things were worked out. My love goes out to Beverly and Danny, his wife and awesome kids and grandkids.
